For Immediate Release:

February 7, 2024 (Fort Smith, Arkansas) – River Valley’s cutting-edge micro-hospital celebrated one year of providing exceptional medical services to the community. Since opening its doors last year, Fort Smith ER & Hospital has taken pride in becoming the go-to neighborhood choice for emergency care in the community and surrounding areas.

Fort Smith ER & Hospital’s growth has been tremendous from the beginning. Over the year, the medical facility has advanced in many ways, achieving the following accomplishments in only one year:

  • Placed in the top three for ‘Best Hospital’ in the 2023 Fort Smith Community Choice Awards
  • Recognized as one of the top hospitals by receiving Silver in the ‘Best Hospital’ category in the Best of River Valley Awards
  • Donated hundreds of backpacks filled with school supplies and approximately $400 in giveaways and gift cards to local businesses
  • Adopted innovative technology to diagnose bacterial and virus infection in 15 minutes with MeMed BV® Test

The accomplishments are reflected in the hospital’s number one goal – to provide exceptional medical care for all in the community. The micro-hospital provides emergency services to the community without the barriers of traditional hospitals, like prioritizing low wait times and access to an onsite laboratory and advanced imaging capabilities like CT scans, MRIs, X-rays, Ultrasounds, and more.

The Fort Smith ER & Hospital staff celebrated the momentous occasion with an in-office taco luncheon to reflect on the year.

Without the staff’s dedication and the support of the community, the success seen in this first year would not be possible.

“We want to thank Fort Smith and the surrounding areas for allowing us to provide comprehensive healthcare for the community. We look forward to many more years of providing compassionate care,” said Dr. John Weddle, Medical Director at Fort Smith ER & Hospital.

Fort Smith ER & Hospital anticipates only more for the community as the hospital of the future. The medical facility is built on the value of exceptional and convenient care as the go-to neighborhood hospital and ER. Open 24/7, 365 days a year, the specialty hospital is here to provide comprehensive medical care without the wait.
