Emergency Physician
Meet Dr. B Shane Holland, physician-owner and emergency medicine physician at Fort Smith ER & Hospital. He has practiced emergency medicine since 2004 and recently started his practice in functional medicine.
Fun fact – if he did not practice medicine, he would aspire to teach or own a coffee shop. His love for teaching stems from his prior career experience. Before returning to school to pursue medicine, Dr. Holland had the opportunity to teach history for four years. Also, he served as a teaching assistant during medical school and taught at The Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine when it opened.
Outside the world of medicine, he loves to hang out and travel with his wife of 31 years and his three kids – Recently, he became a grandfather. Dr. Holland loves to exercise, read, watch sports, meditate and pray, and try new coffees and brew in different ways. He enjoys working with sports teams in Northwest Arkansas, including the minor league baseball team, the Naturals.
